There are three main ways to find a supplier in China. B2B marketplaces let you search thousands of factories and trading companies, compare prices and message them before you buy. Trade fairs let you meet suppliers in person, handle the products and talk to the people who make them; the best known is the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, held every spring and autumn. Sourcing agents search, negotiate and check factories for you for a fee, which suits busy owners and custom products. Many importers mix the three: they search online, meet the best suppliers at a fair, and use an agent for inspections.
Three Routes:
Compare the main routes before you choose where to source your stock:
Oreem is an independent shipping company and is not a partner of any of these marketplaces, fairs or agents.
Most Chinese suppliers set a minimum order quantity, or MOQ: the smallest number of units they will make or sell at the wholesale price. It is often open to negotiation, especially if you accept a standard colour or packaging, pay a slightly higher unit price, or plan regular repeat orders. Before any bulk order, buy samples from two or three suppliers and compare the material, finish, size and packaging side by side. Keep the sample you approve as your reference, and tell the supplier the bulk order must match it. Samples are small and light, so air freight usually gets them to Bahrain quickly.
Before You Commit:

A little checking before you pay protects your money and your shop. Ask for the business licence and confirm the company name matches the one on your invoice and bank details. Find out whether you are dealing with the factory itself or a trading company; both can be fine, but you should know which. Look at how long the supplier has been trading, read buyer reviews, and ask for a video call to see the production line and stock. Put every detail of the order in writing: material, size, colour, quantity, packaging, labels and delivery date. For larger orders, an independent inspection before the goods leave the factory is money well spent.
Supplier Checklist:
Use the protected payment option when a marketplace offers one, and pay only into a bank account in the name of the company you signed with. Be careful if a supplier emails new bank details; confirm by phone or video call first. Many suppliers ask for a deposit before production and the balance before shipping, so agree that the balance is paid only after the goods pass your checks. Agree the trade terms too, because they decide who pays for transport and where the supplier hands the goods over; our guide to Incoterms explains EXW, FOB, CIF and DDP. The simplest setup is to ask the supplier to deliver to your Oreem address in China, then we take over from there.
Safe Payment Rules:

When your goods reach your address in China, Oreem receives them and ships them on. Air express takes 4–7 working days and suits samples, urgent restocks and light, valuable items. Air cargo takes 10–14 working days for loads from 10 kg. Sea freight takes 35–60 working days and costs less for heavy or bulky stock; larger orders can travel in a shared container or a full container, see container shipping. Check that your products are allowed into Bahrain before you order, because some batteries, liquids and chemicals are restricted. Choose by Need:
