1688 is the domestic wholesale marketplace of Alibaba Group, where factories and wholesalers across China sell in bulk to Chinese shops and online sellers. Many suppliers on 1688 sell only within China, so the reliable way to buy from Bahrain is a China address: you order on 1688, each supplier delivers to your Oreem address in China, and we ship the cartons to Bahrain, clear customs and deliver them to your shop or store. Oreem is an independent shipping company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a partner of 1688.

Alibaba Group describes 1688 as the leading domestic wholesale marketplace in China and the product source for Chinese e-commerce. It was founded in 1999, and its sellers are mostly factories, wholesalers and trading companies that supply the shops and online stores inside China. That is why prices are often close to factory level, and why most pages are written in Chinese for Chinese buyers. 1688 suits shop owners, Instagram and online sellers, salons, cafes and offices in Bahrain who buy the same item in quantity: clothing and abayas, accessories, packaging, home and kitchen goods, phone accessories and gifts. Three marketplaces from the same group, built for different buyers:
Oreem is an independent shipping company and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or a partner of 1688.
Every 1688 listing is set by its own supplier, and most of them ask for a minimum quantity before they accept an order. The minimum can be counted in pieces, sets or cartons, and it changes from one product to the next. Many listings also show price tiers, where the unit price drops as the quantity rises, so work out the landed cost of each tier and not only the headline price. Colours and sizes often count together toward the minimum, which helps when you want a mix for your shop. Start with a small first order from a new supplier, and increase it once the quality is proven.
Before You Order:
Read the minimum quantity on each listing Compare the unit price at each tier Start small with a new supplier
Because most 1688 pages are in Chinese, use the translate option in your browser or phone to read the listing, the supplier profile and the reviews. Look at how long the supplier has been on the site, its verification details, its order record and whether it is a factory or a trading company. Message the supplier through the site chat before you order to confirm stock, colours, packing and the lead time, and keep the conversation as your record. For anything you plan to sell, order a sample or a small quantity first and check the material, finish and size in person. Payment options depend on your account, so use a method shown at checkout.
Supplier Checks:
Translate the listing and supplier profile Confirm stock and lead time in the chat Check a sample before a bulk orderContact us first and we send you your Oreem address in China. On 1688, add it as a new delivery address and copy every line exactly as we send it: the recipient name, the province, city and district chosen from the lists, the street address, the phone number field and any reference we give you. Set it as your default address, so every supplier delivers to the same place inside China. Ask each supplier to mark the cartons with your reference and to send you the domestic tracking number once they dispatch. Our team in China receives every carton, logs it and tells you what has arrived. Read more about your China address for shipping.
Address Tips:

A shop order on 1688 rarely comes from one supplier. Bags may come from one factory, packaging from another and accessories from a third, and each one sends its own cartons to your China address. Oreem receives them all at that address and ships them to Bahrain. Air cargo from China costs BHD 5.5–6.6 per kg with a 10 kg minimum, and sea freight costs BHD 135 per CBM with a 0.2 CBM minimum.
How It Works:
Each supplier delivers to your China address We log every carton as it arrives Sea freight: BHD 135 per CBMShop stock from 1688 is often heavy, so sea freight in 35–60 working days is usually the economical choice, while air cargo in 10–14 working days or air express in 4–7 suits urgent or lighter items; compare both in air freight vs sea freight and shipping from China to Bahrain. Check first that your goods are allowed, because batteries, liquids, aerosols and chemicals can be restricted; see prohibited items in Bahrain. Imports into Bahrain generally carry 5% customs duty on the CIF value, meaning the goods plus shipping and insurance, and 10% VAT, as set out on customs.gov.bh and nbr.gov.bh. Keep your 1688 order records for the declaration, and Oreem handles the customs clearance and delivers to your shop, store or home, with cash on delivery in BHD. Shipping is quoted per shipment.
